the person I hate

Who do you despise?  Who do you wish to never see again?  Whose face makes you sick?  Whose face ruins your dreams and hijacks your thoughts?

Who do you hate?

Jesus gives the plan to follow when someone has hurt us, offended us, stabbed us in the back, stabbed us in the front, abused us, mistreated us, disrespected us, wrecked our world, wrecked our reputation, caused pain to someone we deeply love…(getting the point?).  Jesus never allows for the question of if we will have tough relationships or if we will have enemies.  He simply teaches what to do towards our enemies.

1.  Love your enemies

2.  Bless those who curse you

3.  Do good to those who hate you

4.  Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you

Hesitant to obey?  Don’t believe it?  Doubt this would work?

Obey.  This is truth.  It does work.

It’s not all about who hurt you or how bad they hurt you or how unfair things are or the injustice that was done to you.  It is all about how to love that person just like Christ loves you.  YOU  GOD.  It’s about ____(name)____ seeing your good works so they can “glorify your Father in Heaven”.  Let’s get this right.

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?   And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?  Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.  Matthew 5:44-48
