Pastor Tyler’s history with NEBC goes all the way back to 1980 when his father, Chip Thompson, first began making plans to start a church in the Merrimack Valley. Tyler and his brother Andrew were part of NEBC’s first service in 1982 and through the years spent many hours serving as greeters, ushers, janitors, parking lot attendants, furniture movers, and all-around church rats.
After graduating from Cedarville University in Ohio, Tyler returned home to New Hampshire and became a local school teacher and coach.
Before serving as Senior Pastor, he spent eight years as NEBC’s Youth Pastor—first as a lay leader and then as a full time staff member.
Tyler, his wife Leslie, and their four children live in Southern New Hampshire. In addition to being a pastor, Tyler loves to hunt, fish, garden, grill, read, spend time with his family and play Wiffle ball with the kids in the backyard.

Pastor Matthew Lourdeau began serving as NEBC’s Youth Pastor on April 18, 2010.
Matt grew up near Chicago and spent his teenage years in Northern Virginia. He holds a B.S. in Psychology & Bible from Columbia International University, and a M.A. in Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary. Matt is an avid fly fisherman, devoted sports fan, and barbeque connoisseur.
Matt and his wife Amanda have been married since 2003. Amanda has a master’s degree in counseling and works as an outpatient therapist. Together they share a burden for young men and women in the church and their families.
Pastor Matt’s vision of youth ministry is not to create good teenagers, but to come alongside teens and help them understand and apply the Bible so that their relationship with the Lord transforms them into Godly men and women.
